Commonly, when someone sees a wooden canoe the reaction is somewhat stunned at its beauty but quite unsure whether it would float or not. Why then would someone quickly step into a canoe that was painted say…forest green, red or black? Is it a fear of something that is obviously handmade or a comfort in mass production? Both?
