The Bus: A Journey Up North, is a story of some good friends doing what they do best; having fun, adventuring, and sending it on mountain bikes and kayaks. With the idea to run the bus to be more economical as well as environmentally friendly, the friends converted the school bus to run off waste vegetable oil. The trip turns out to be nothing short of the trip of a lifetime.
It was a great day to celebrate The “Duke” in Waikiki. Surf was up for the over 160 Keike who surfed where Duke Kahanamoku once surfed, at Queens Surf Break. A couple outstanding surfers were Rion Son and Shion Drawford who both made the final in long and short board. Angelina Yossa from the North Shore also made two finals along with Tiki Willis, Kaniela Stewert and Tosh Kekahuna.

Emirates Team New Zealand rounded the windward mark to starboard and dug the bows in to the main crossbeam in a violent maneuver. Two crew, Rob Waddell and Chris ward went overboard and were recovered by the team’s chase boat apparently unharmed. But Aotearoa suffered damage to the fairing on the aft side of the main crossbeam.
