For the past six decades, paddlers have annually challenged the unpredictable and often-treacherous waters of the Kaiwi Channel, which separates Molokai and Oahu, to compete in the Molokai Hoe Molokai-to-Oahu outrigger canoe race, considered the world championship of outrigger canoe paddling for men.
Hoe is pronounced “ho-eh,” without a glottal stop. It’s the Hawaiian word for “paddle,” or “the act of paddling.”

The 2013 Weymouth Speed Week will kick off in the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, on the 12th October.
The oldest and longest-running speed sailing event in the world, held annually since 1972, challenges competitors to sail as fast as they can over a distance of 500 meters, with their speed being recorded as the average speed over that distance.

America’s Cup – The greatest sports comeback in the history of sports happened last week in San Francisco. Probably going widely unnoticed here seeing we really don’t cover water sports and local sailing, something I believe should change.
