Is there anything better, after a day on the slopes, than getting in your swimming gear and just chilling out in the hot tub? We’d argue that there is not. Today was CRAZY fun, after deciding to cut open and see whats inside a fridge we decide to first have some fun and take it sledding!! We were a bit nervous but it ended up being sooo awesome! oh and a couple police cars showed up, ha ha!
Then we cut open the refrigerator and were surprised by what was inside!
Nothing caps a good day on the slopes like circling up to laugh off your wipeouts and toast your triumphs.
For a Special Meal
Trokay has moved the needle off the steak-with-a-view paradigm that has long ruled the fine dining scene in Tahoe. The only view here is onto the main drag of Truckee, Calif., but the meal itself does double duty as a bit of theater. A cloche lifted on a dish called Fire & Smoke releases a puff from tiny vegetable-ash cinders served with trout. And chef John Weatherson himself brings out two Hawaiian prawns to sizzle them for you on a hot slab of granite pried from nearby Desolation Wilderness—this is big-city cooking with a distinctly Tahoe twist.
