Workers at Harley-Davidson’s Menomonee Falls plants have caved to Harley-Davidson’s labor restructuring ultimatum today, voting to approve a seven-year labor contract that would see 275 jobs cut and a two-tiered workforce implemented in the company’s Wisconsin-based production plants. For the second year in a row Stephanie Laier has been proclaimed the FIM Women’s Motocross World Champion on the very last round of the series in Fermo, Italy. The 25-year-old German rider clinched the victory of race one today and tomorrow she will ride being already the current 2010 FIM WMX World Champion.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Laier had to wait until the last round of the series to conquer the Title and after today’s free practice she thought that she could even lose it. Laier suffered an unexpected crash in the first practice session of the Italian GP and was taken to the hospital straight away as she was suffering really hard pain in her shoulder. The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship came to an exciting conclusion on Saturday, returning to San Diego County for the first time in 28 years with the inaugural Pala Motocross National from Pala Raceway. After a dominant second half of the season, GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard, of Shawnee, Okla., secured his first career motocross championship in the 250 Class with a third-place finish on the day. In the premier 450 Class, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., etched his name in the record books with his 10th overall win of his rookie season.
