Monster Energy Supercross took over Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis for round nine of the 2014 season. Racers competed not only against one another, but the track itself in the Circle City. Built with a very soft soil, the track developed countless ruts through every lane of the tight course and shaped what many riders touted as the most vicious track they had faced this side of a mud race. March is just around the corner and for the women of motocross, and that means the fun is about to begin. This past weekend marked the first of six rounds for the FIM Women’s World Championship, which saw Meghan Rutledge take the first win of the year. The ladies of the World Championship are excited to be racing on the same day as the men in the series this year! After a two-year hiatus, during which the women have been racing on Sunday, the organizers have noticed the growing popularity of women in motocross and have moved the class back to Saturday. This year’s gate will be filled with some of the best riders from around the world.
The names alone are enough to let you know this is going to be an exciting series.
