Pucha Garcia’s 2013 Calendar Shoot – This video was created to showcase the making of or behind the scenes of this years calendar shoot, shot on the beaches in the beautiful Republic of Panama. This years calendar was all black and white.
Pucha is 10x Panamanian Women’s Surfing Champion and recently won the Bronze Medal in the International Surfing Associations World Masters Surfing Championship held in Nicaragua.
Sitting isolated in the Pacific Ocean, some 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, are the mysterious Galapagos. We chose these “Enchanted Islands” to host the 2013 Miss Reef Calendar shoot. For generations, this rich archipelago has been celebrated for what it has to teach us about the natural world — countless species in the wild, from the woodlands to sky and sea.
Our team was tasked with the assignment of capturing the true essence of the Galapagos juxtaposed with the Miss Reef sensuality. We feel they captured the best of San Cristobal’s pristine landscapes and charming villages. The 2013 Miss Reef Calendar is dedicated to the welcoming people of Ecuador, particularly the Galápagos and San Cristobal, for their warm hospitality and enthusiasm in collaboration on this project.
A Maryland man ran an entire 26-mile marathon in flip-flop sandals and he’s hoping to make it into the Guinness World Book of Records for the feat.
Keith Lavasseur, 34, of Glen Burnie finished the marathon in 29th place out of 3,024 runners within a brisk two hours, 46 minutes and 58 seconds — all while wearing black ‘Reef’ sandals.
Other runners who noticed Lavasseur’s footwear were mostly supportive and wished him good luck as he sped past them, beside a couple runners who called him nuts for the stunt  … More
