This is the stuff powder dreams are made of. Last season, Japan was hit with an unreal amount of snow and with a slow season in British Columbia, the Get Outta Town boys sent it across the Pacific in search of whiter pastures. What does it mean to fly down 4,900 vertical feet of terrain, passing through flowing descents of alpine wildflowers, or the mystique of earthy, tangled roots that rise alongside berms, or the blinkered light that flashes through the deep forests before opening into the energy of the valley below? More importantly, how does it feel? “In The Zone” stems from a three-part online video campaign produced by Goldstein Productions that personifies the character of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park’s three riding zones and captures the journey through each. Originally made as three separate pieces, the intention was to have all three form one cohesive short film at the end. “In the Zone” personifies each of the riding zones in Whistler’s Bike Park. We get to know places like Garbo – suspended between sky and valley, where everything is a little louder, more vibrant, more instinctive. More importantly, we feel the rider’s journey and mental state in each zone.
