This is the third episode of Snowboarding’s Dead! The local’s took us in with open arms, and showed us what it’s like being a snowboarder in North Carolina. There is really something special about this place, and going there as an outsider, opened my eyes to how amazing the culture of snowboarding can be even in places you didn’t know it existed. The local snowboard shops, people and amazing scenery are what make this place so unique. I hope you enjoy the episode and if you get the chance to check out North Carolina, I strongly suggest you do it! Thanks to all the Local shredders, shops, and people who made this happen, can’t wait to go back!

Meet the little surfer dude who loves nothing more than catching BIG waves.

Pint-sized Kai Kai Alcala, aged five, has been making waves in the surfing world after videos of his antics surfaced online.

He started to surf when he was four but always loved playing in water from a very young age.  So it wasn’t long before Kai Kai, from the Philippines, picked up a board and followed in his family footsteps.

His mum Manette is a five-time Philippine national surfing champion and his uncle, Piso, a three-time Cloud 9 International surfing champion.  And his mum’s fiancé, Kyron Rathbone, is sponsored for big wave surfing and stand up paddle boarding.

Kyron said: “People are in awe when they see Kai Kai surfing – he is so small he looks like a remote control toy.  “Everyone is just blown away by his skills and most people stop surfing just so they can watch him.”

The team takes the field once again for another inning of play in Sugarbush Parks. Seasoned Parks’ players, such as Matt De Vito, Luke Haddock, Lily Calabrese, and Nate Dugan, came through in classic form, spinning and sliding around the park. Pinch presser, Danyale Patterson, made her presence felt with some tricks many had deemed “too hard”. However inning standouts, Kalyi Hendricks, Kyle Kennedy, and Mike Skiba (aka The Troll Babies), proved that they don’t need to be lapping a rope tow in order to establish dominance. With record snowfalls this winter, there is plenty of snow for the Bush League to keep going strong into the months of Spring riding.
