Uncommon swells hit Wisconsin, bringing never before seen aquatic wildlife to the hills. Conveniently it came at the same time as the first stop of Burton Qualifiers, which benefitted hugely from the waves and whale tales popping up in the terrain park at Trollhaugen. When the foam settled in the open division, it was Ryan Paul in first, followed by Jesse Paul in second, and Luke Zajac for third.
In the game of life, we face many trials and tribulations, some trivial but others dire. When things don’t go as planned, our characters are tested and true colors are revealed. For some, the slightest misjudgment could send them reeling end over end without any steady ground to land on. Others, more adept to misadventure, maintain a level head and improvise as a situation unfolds.
I can’t tell you where Rob DiQuattro falls on this spectrum nor can I describe to you the color of his soul. The fact is that he lost not only a friend, but a beacon of glimmering hope in a world dimmed by hatred and misappropriation. A loss such as this cuts deeply and takes much time to heal, unless you have a potion spell. Luckily Rob keeps a band of merrymen who are quick to reverse any dejection as soon as it rears its ugly head. Also, Super Nintendo.
