Ryan, Shane, and Kane have skateboarding in their blood, and a sibling skate dynamic like no other.
Deep behind the Orange Curtain, in the county’s southernmost beach town of San Clemente, the Sheckler family have established themselves as skateboarding heavies and cemented their places in a town’s already strong skate history. Ryan Sheckler was famous nearly out of the womb, and it’s like we’ve grown up with him as he went from a ripping California grom to an international skate superstar. Along the way, his brothers made names for themselves as well, proving that the family skate gene pool runs deep.
The Sheckler name, whether attached to the eldest Ryan, the middle bro Shane, or the young gun Kane, is a big one in skateboarding, and the sibling rivalry between these three is a big part of that. All three still call San Clemente home, and following them around when they’re all in town turns out to be the best way to witness the skill attached to the Sheckler surname.
When a group of world class cliff divers decide to go on a search for extraordinary diving spots, you know they’ll end up in some rad locations. On this trip, the crew found themselves in Indonesia and it didn’t disappoint.
Rocco Simpson, Ady Jimenez, Blake Aldridge, Kris Kolanus, Alex de Rose, David Colturi and Andy Jones spent 48 hours of straight travel to arrive at the tiny town of West Papua. It was an undiscovered area for the divers, where they’d spend the following days diving from, truly, some of the most breathtaking locations in the world.
It’s no secret that we love speedriding — the freeflight sport combining high-performance skiing with high-performance wings gives athletes access to some of the most incredible terrain on the planet. Steep powder lines everywhere are suddenly open for business, even if they end in a huge cliff band.
But that’s not the only thing they can do. In the hands of skilled pilots Valentin Delluc and Martin Schricke, the whole mountain is a playground: from swooping passes through gaping gorges, a quick pass-through session on some park features and even a high-speed sightseeing run through the local mountain town – there is no terrain unrideable for these fellas.
