The first evening session of Loosefest is in the books, and some craziness already went down. After some adjustments, the line is riding better than ever and most people made it completely through, so the next days are gonna go off.

For seven long years, one team, Sunrise, has reigned supreme in the battle for the best surf shop in the Southeast region. But Sunrise’s dynasty came to a dramatic denouement on Tuesday at Paradise Park in Melbourne, Florida, when Quiet Flight showed up with former World Championship Tour surfer CJ Hobgood leading their charge. It marked the first time in history that a former World Champion participated in any OSSC event, and he did not disappoint. But Sunrise didn’t go quietly, nor did the rest of the teams, making for an exciting day of competition.
