It’s fair to say the last couple of El Niño months have delivered some of the greatest Pacific Ocean waves the world has ever seen. We’ve seen Mavericks at its finest, Hawaii has been non-stop, and Australia’s Gold Coast has produced some of the best – and, admittedly most crowded – tubes you’re ever likely to witness.

This summer was the worst since I started kitesurfing in 2006. Normally, the wind comes in May and continues throughout July. But anyway a few nice days it was and it’s always nice to be at my home spot.
