A full on Skate-A-Thon is going down this Sunday in San Francisco for all of you up in that area. I would be the first one there and ready to skate to my hearts content, if only I was nearby. A chance to skate, pretty much all day with a bunch of other skateboarding brothers is a beautiful thing.

It starts bright and early at 8:00am and ends at 11:00 am. That’s relatively short, I guess, but you know you’re still going to skate the rest of the day with other skateboarders you meet there. Trade spot locations, talk skateboarding, play games of S.K.A.T.E. and just overall have a great time.

Last November, Sport Rider Senior Editor Andrew Trevitt had a bad crash road testing a motorcycle up on the Angeles Crest Highway. The crash left him unable to walk, but his rehabilitation and therapy are proceeding well, with Trev seeming upbeat on his blog; “there are loads of other things that I’m still able to do, and I’m looking forward to trying new things that I probably never would have thought of.”

CJM Racing and America’s Incredible Pizza Company will team up this season with the Autism Society of America to help bring awareness to a disorder that affects one in 150 American children. The complex disability is something America’s Incredible Pizza Company CEO Rick Barsness and his wife, Cheryl, are familiar with.

“Our grandson was diagnosed with autism very young. We put this ribbon on our car to bring awareness to the struggle that so many families, as well as our own, face with the diagnosis of autism,” Cheryl Barsness said.

The Kailua High School Canoe Club will have a fundraising imu on Friday, April 24. Students, faculty and alumni will again work hard, this time to help raise funds for the high school canoe club. The public is again invited to purchase space in the traditional underground oven to cook their food. The imu will be on Friday, April 24. The charge is $15 per tray of food that we cook for you.
