America Expected to Continue Using Less Gasoline

Gasoline demand in the United States hit an all-time high in 2006, and ever since then has been on the decline. Aided by rising prices, more efficient vehicles, and a slowing population growth, the United States as a whole is not only using less gas than before the recession, but we as a country have entered into a continued trend of decreased gasoline demand, which government officials and industry executives believe will be a permanent trend from this point forward. While current usage is about 8% less than the 2006 peak, experts expect to see as much as a 20% reduction in gasoline use by 2030.

Is E15 Ethanol a NASCAR Time Bomb?

The Daly Planet, with its accompanying Blog, suggests that NASCAR’s involvement with Ethanol 15 could be a time bomb!

John Daly pointed out that even the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers recently filed a petition with the U.S. Appellate Court challenging the EPA’s approval for gas containing 15 percent Ethanol. Similar concerns have also been expressed by Fox Cable News contributors John Stossel and Glen Beck.

Yet in early December, NASCAR bossman Brian France announced a partnership with producers of the alternative bio fuel composition of 15 percent Ethanol. The message to NASCAR fans was that E15 definitely will be a safe alternative in 2011. And NASCAR will be looking good because they will be considered to be “politically correct” for promoting green products!

Motorway duel: 200mph Ferrari driver rams Fiat 600 off motorway and then beats up driver … for not allowing him to overtake

ferrare-4851A Ferrari driver has been arrested after he attackedfiat-6001 the owner of a Fiat 600 which had not given way to him as he tried to overtake it on an Italian motorway.

The 32-year-old driver of the £166,000 Ferrari 485 with a top speed of 200mph repeatedly rammed the small car when his attempts to pass it were frustrated.

The man, who has not been named, eventually forced the Fiat 600, worth £7,750 and with a top speed of 93mph, on to the hard shoulder, and then he smashed a window and set about beating up the 32-year-old inside   …  Details
