Former NASCAR crew chief Ray Evernham has signed on as a consultant for one of Rick Hendrick’s companies.
Evernham won three championships in the 1990s as crew chief for Jeff Gordon with Hendrick Motorsports. Now, his company Ray Evernham Enterprises, will consult on special projects for Hendrick Companies.

Ending all speculation, Porsche has confirmed that it will debut a new supercar concept at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show that starts in January. Though the company refrained from providing more details, the vehicle is expected to have a twin-turbo V8-powered engine capable of producing 600 hp.
The new supercar from the Porsche stable is believed to be a mid-engined machine with an AWD system. We also expect the body to incorporate a considerable amount of carbon fiber for lightness.

Hopes for Junior Johnson Racing to propel son Robert into the Sprint Cup Series
Junior Johnson has launched a race team that he hopes will propel his son, 17-year-old Robert, eventually to the Sprint Cup Series.
The elder Johnson, who was enshrined in NASCAR’s Hall of Fame as a member of its inaugural 2010 class of inductees, will run Junior Johnson Racing from shops on his 278-acre estate in Hamptonville, N.C.
