Building on its partnership with Penske Racing while extending its Verizon Championship Racing program, Verizon Wireless today announced that it will serve as primary sponsor of the Penske Racing Daytona Prototype in the 2009 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series.
Beginning with the Bosch Engineering 250 race at Virginia International Raceway, April 24-25, and for the remaining events on the 2009 Grand-Am Series schedule, the Penske Racing entry will carry the Verizon Wireless black and red color scheme and iconic “V” design. Racer Productions announces the involvement of the South Carolina Army National Guard for the 2009 Grand National Cross Country Series at the Pirelli Big Buck GNCC in Union, South Carolina as well as several activities and special guests who will appear at the event.
Saturday’s guest starters are Union City County Council members, Mayor Harold Thompson and Union County Sheriff David Taylor. Saturday’s trophy presenter is Miss Teen South Carolina along with Miss Union and Miss Teen Union. Subaru announced they will return to the WRC as early as 2010. Company bosses are said to be very ecstatic about the latest ideas for the future of WRC. The new S2000 rules are cheap, if not inexpensive and we will have rule stability with this move for at least one and a half years.
