NASCAR is trading the Christmas lights of New York for the neon of Las Vegas.
The Sprint Cup postseason awards banquet, a fixture in Manhattan since in 1981, will be moved to Las Vegas for this season, sources have confirmed to NASCAR.COM. Although the venue is yet to be determined, the change has already been approved by NASCAR and is awaiting only final approval from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, a taxpayer-funded entity that has championed the move west… Details
Lowe’s Motor Speedway will honor Autism Awareness Month by contributing $10 from every ticket sold to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600 from April 3-11 to Autism Speaks.
“Autism affects millions of families around the world, including many of our great fans,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Lowe’s Motor Speedway. “We’ve worked with local non-profit groups that help children with autism and their families through Speedway Children’s Charities. Now we’ve decided to significantly expand those efforts to help Autism Speaks increase awareness of the disorder and raise funds to help find a cure.”
