Red Bull’s New Year, No Limits series is moving from Las Vegas to La-La-Land, and this time it’ll be Travis Pastrana’s turn to try to wow the crowd.
Pastrana will try to break the world record for the longest jump in a car. A handful of Los Angeles landmarks are being considered for the New Year’s Eve stunt by the freestyle motocross star and rally car champion.
Considering that this is the guy who at 15 celebrated an X Games gold medal by jumping his motorcycle into San Francisco Bay, almost anything might go.

Jimmie Johnson hasn’t won a Cup race on a road course, but now he has a leg up on that accomplishment.
Johnson turned a lap of 71.340 seconds (123.633 mph) Friday at 2.45-mile Watkins Glen International to win the pole for Sunday’s Heluva Good! at The Glen, edging Kurt Busch (123.619 mph) for the top starting spot by .008 seconds.

Ahead of its launch next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche has taken the wraps off of its revised 2010 911 Turbo. A new 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine will crank out 500 horsepower – about double what the first 911 Turbo produced – and will be able to propel the car to 62 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds.
The direct-injected powertrain features turbocharger with variable turbine geometry and it can be paired with Porsche’s PDK Doppelkupplungsgetriebe, the automaker’s dual clutch seven-speed transmission.
