Porsche will use the Geneva Motor Show this week to showcase its 918 Spyder concept car. The plug-in hybrid combines a V8 power unit delivering more than 500 hp and three electric motors with a combined electric output 160 kW (218 hp), and overall output of 718 hp. Fuel efficiency is said to be 78.4 U.S. mpg.

The already-splintered world of electric motorcycle racing got even more divided after Isle of Man TT organizers announced it will run its own zero emission race without the TTXGP.The Isle of Man TT, which held the TTXGP’s inaugural event in 2009, will hold its own clean emissions race, named the TT Zero. Like all other TT races, the TT Zero will be run by ACU Events, using the International Motorcycling Federation’s rulebook. The Isle of Man government’s Department of Tourism and Leisure will promote the TT Zero. The TTXGP however will not be involved.
