Nokian Tyres is now fastest on ice both with an electric car and with a petrol-powered car! The new world record with E-RA (Electric RaceAbout) was set at 252.09 km/h on 17th of March 2012 on the ice of Lake Ukonjärvi in Inari, Finland. Petrol-powered ice driving record was already achieved by Nokian Tyres in March 2011.
Considering the laudable goal of hybrid cars, one would think that when owners of gas-electric vehicles were ready to replace their car, most would do so with a new hybrid. However, that just isn’t the case.
