Alan Wilzig, a New York banking scion, built the largest racetrack zoned for private recreational use in the U.S. at his farm in Columbia County, NY. Take a tour of the circuit at Wilzig Racing Manor, featuring nine turns that thread through more than 80 feet of elevation changes, including a 20-percent banked curve. Also on site is a clubhouse and museum for Wilzig’s car and bike collection and race shop for his IMSA racecar and racing karts.
The next race of the season was taking place at Sebring Raceway in Florida. It was five in the morning. I brushed my teeth and readied myself for a big day on track. But when you are staying in a hotel full of race team members — all driving rental cars — the battle to the racetrack can sometimes be fiercer than the actual race.

Rhys Millen claimed yet another world record and overall victory at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Sunday’s rescheduled event, which was postponed from July by wildfires.
