American driver Robby Gordon won the ninth leg of the Dakar Rally on Tuesday, and French rival Stephane Peterhansel finished second to maintain his overall lead in the car category.
Driving a Hummer, Gordon took the 345-mile special stage in 4 hours, 35 minutes, 21 seconds. Peterhansel was 1:38 behind, with Joan Roma of Spain 8:37 off the lead.
