
San Diego crowds don’t disappoint Armstrong, Tour of California cyclists
In a Rancho Bernardo parking lot, children climbed on their parents’shoulders, straining to catch a glimpse of Lance Armstrong.
On the zig-zag climb along Palomar Mountain, one man dressed as the pope, sprinkling cyclists with water. And on the sprint home in downtown Escondido, spectators lined five and six deep for blocks. Others watched atop buildings.

Pietermaritzburg-born, world downhill mountain bike champion Greg Minnaar stars in a documentary that will premiere at local cinemas on April 9.
The documentary contains footage from 16 countries, interviews and great stunts by Minnaar and other top names.
The premiere is scheduled to coincide with the first leg of the 2009 World Mountain Bike Championships to be hosted in Pietermaritzburg.
