Beginning with this weekend’s Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux in Belgium, USA Cycling will host 14 U23 athletes, 6 juniors and 14 women throughout the month of April, providing them with valuable exposure to European racing – a primary factor in the successful development of future world-class cyclists.

The head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission said she would allow retailers of youth-model all-terrain vehicles to unload their older inventory despite new restrictions on lead content that prohibit sales. But it isn’t clear if acting CPSC Chairman Nancy Nord has the authority to grant such permission.

Ms. Nord told her compliance staff Friday to hold off on its enforcement for a year on youth ATVs. A spokesman for Ms. Nord said that, as agency chairman, she can enforce her decision. The owner of a stolen parrot is setting up a reward fund to hasten the return of his beloved bird.

Fred Mireles said he has already received pledges of more than $100 to help find Gordo – a 30-year-old green parrot stolen from his cage on Mireles’ front porch about a week ago.  (Details and picture)

Gordo is better known throughout Baldwin Park as the skateboarding parrot from Guatemala. He was often seen rolling down residential streets with Mireles on a mini, makeshift skateboard.
