French Sports minister Roselyne Bachelot says Astana team riders at the Tour de France stayed too long out of sight of an UCI inspector during a random doping test.
According to L’Equipe sports daily, the UCI official had coffee with officials from Lance Armstrong’s team in Andorra last Saturday and didn’t test the riders for nearly an hour.
“There was a little bit of avoiding going on,†Bachelot said on French TV after Thursday’s 12th stage. “I hope it won’t happen again.â€
