Maris Strombergs and Sarah Walker win UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Frejus Frejus, France 9 October 2010 – In an impressive finale Maris Strombergs outperformed all Elite men. The strong Latvian rider came powering down the start hill in front of thousands of BMX fans on the sunny south coast of France. Strombergs took the holeshot and dominated the remaining 30 seconds of the race from start to finish. With this victory during the last Supercross event of the season, the Olympic and World Champion also secured his overall 2010 Supercross World Cup title.

Record number of participants at UCI BMX Supercross 2010 finale A record number of riders entered the final round of the UCI BMX Supercross in Frejus, 198 men and from 47 women from 27 countries. With the Olympics just two short years away the interest in the world’s fastest growing action sport is rising. The event kicked off with the time trials to determine which 64 men and 32 women will continue in tomorrow’s finals.
