Are they mountain bikers from Mars? These stunning photos of mountain bikers flying through the air look as though they’ve been snapped on the Red Planet.
The incredible shots show only the silhouettes of the brave bikers as they leap through the air into the red mist.
The barren backdrop looks just like a lonely planet – as the bikers speed across the rocky terrain as though there isn’t another soul around.

David Herman was the first male American rider to solidify his position on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team while in Birmingham, UK for the BMX Worlds last May. David made his way onto the team in the same way he has been riding the past couple of years — out of the spotlight and nonchalant. Herman, 24 of Wheat Ridge, Colo. has had an awesome couple of years but keeps a low profile. After leaving long time sponsor Intense for Free Agent at the end of the 2011 season, it was obvious that team manager Dale Holmes had his eyes open and was hedging his bets on sending more than just one rider to the 2012 Olympic Games.
