I would think that the thought of renting a 30 foot RV to a group of early 20-something’s must be somewhat terrifying to a rental company, but as long as we didn’t travel to Burning Man we were fine to do whatever we wanted with it. Luckily, Burning Man doesn’t start until late August, so we had no choice but to head to California and escape the BC spring. On board the RV were Wink Grant, Jarrett Moore, Paul Genovese, Aaron Boss, Rupert Walker, and Ross Measures. Driving in our support vehicle were Luke Fulton, Eric Lawrenuk and Brendan Howey.
Did you read our awesome interview with Atherton Racing’s Taylor Vernon in issue 20?
Well – Paul Roberts joined us on the day that we interviewed him and shot some video. He’s just unearthed the footage and made this flippin funny ‘out takes’ vid from the day!
It gives you a pretty good idea of how much fun we had interviewing Bridgend’s fastest Justin Beiber impersonator!
Take three parts equal love for shooting photos, editing video, and riding bikes. Next toss in that nagging impulse to do something different, even if it requires hours of torturous work, and this video is what you get. In case your eyes deceive you, this is a stop-motion video. Every frame of the video is a photograph, the rider and the bike laying posed on a concrete floor. The ground and trees were later drawn on each photo with a digital pen. Weeks of planning, thirty-five hours of photography totally 1000 pictures, followed by fifty long hours at the computer editing photos, audio, and video. 10,000 minutes of combined work for a two minute video? All worth it if it puts a smile on your face and sparks some creativity in your mind. Thanks for watching.
