I’ve been a fan of Cyclocross for a long time, so when Mongoose said they were working on the Selous I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one and see what all the fuss was about!
It has to be one of the purest forms of off road riding. I would say back to basics but my bike was pretty damn tech as Shimano set me up with there latest electric gears and disc brakes. That aside you’re still essentially riding a beefed up road bike with skinny tyres and no suspension making every rock, root, rut and discarded Duvel bottle a potential nightmare! A lot to be learned technically from riding a cross bike, have to be on point 110% of the time, I had a lot of fun putting this together. Enjoy! NEXT!

The UCI conducted a thorough review of the BMX calendar in 2012. As a result, the BMX Commission introduced a Category 1 International class for events and withdrew the former Categories 4 and 5. The new category makes more UCI points available and the UCI World Cup ranking is now taken into account when calculating UCI World Championship quotas. After a slight drop in the number of races on the calendar to 90 in 2013 – a post-Olympic year – there was a return to a positive trend in 2014 with 117 events registered on the UCI calendar, an increase of 30%.

March 19, 2014) — The USA Cycling US Cup Pro Series presented by Sho-Air Cycling Group and the USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Cross Country Tour (Pro XCT) continued on March 15 with a UCI Category HC race at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, Calif.
The Czech Republic’s Katerina Nash (Luna Pro Team) and Canadian Geoff Kabush (Scott-3Rox Racing) won their respective elite races and lead the standings in both the seven-race Pro XCT and the four-event USA Cycling US Cup Pro Series presented by Sho-Air Cycling Group.
Men Kabush rode a tactically smart race at Bonelli, biding his time and attacking for the victory to win by 50 seconds over Sergio Mantecon Gutierrez (ESP/Trek Factory Racing). Max Plaxton (CAN/Cannondale Factory Racing) held on to claim third place. … More
