Yesterday the second stage of the Absa CAPE EPIC 2014 took place. Again in the area around Arabella Wines near Robertson. 101 kilometres in distance and 1.550 climbing promised to be a little bit less heavy than the first stage, but due to heavy rain falls the single trails were soaked and very difficult to ride!

Stage 2/7 – Results:

1st place: Topeak-Ergon Racing – 8-1 Robert Mennen (GER) / 8-2 Kristian Hynek (CZE) 2nd place: Bulls1 –  2-1 Karl Platt (GER) / 2-2 Urs Huber (GER) 3rd place: Bulls 2 – 4-1 Tim Boehme (GER) / 4-2 Simon Stiebjahn (GER)

Yesterday the first stage of the Absa CAPE EPIC 2014 took place in the area around Robertson. 108 kilometres in distance and 2.450 climbing metres in the Langeberg Mountains had to be managed by the riders today. The weather was a mix of clouds and scattered rain showers, which made the descents pretty tricky!

Stage 1 – Results:
1st place: Team Centurion Vaude — Markus Kaufmann (GER) and Jochen Kaess (GER)
2nd place: Team Meerendal Songo Specialized — Christoph Sauser (SUI) and Frantisek Rabon (CZE)
3rd place: Team BMC Mountainbike Racing — Lukas Fluckinger (SUI) and Martin Fanger (SUI)
