It was the second stop of the Dew Tour and PLG dominated with multiple 720s, and flip tricks on almost every wall in between.

Bottom Line: 3D adds a little something extra to this movie-length advertisement for X Games.
Only in the loosest sense is “X Games 3D: The Movie” an actual movie. Essentially a promotional film for extreme action sports and ESPN, the network that developed the sports franchise, the footage hits theaters with the added attraction of 3D.
3D does lend an exciting new dimension — yes, let’s use the word — to this death-defying sports competition with its jaw-dropping stunts. Enthusiasts, most of whom are young men, will jam theaters during the film’s one-week engagement. But it’s hard to imagine anyone else, other than willing dates, being interested.

Dew Tour athletes routinely perform jaw-dropping tricks because they love the sport. But as professionals, they also do it for the money.
Some of the 150 competitors in Portland for the past few days make a fabulous living, most of it coming through endorsements, exhibitions and business ownership.
The Dew Tour’s prize purse is $2.5 million, including year-end bonuses in 2009, and few are getting rich off the contest earnings. First prize in each discipline in Portland is $15,000, but most of the athletes will collect a check for less than $1,000.
