I love that, man. It’s called relative wind. Which means that even if there’s no wind outside, at whatever speed you’re flying though the air, there’s a relative wind pushing against you. Especially with the Mega. It seems impossible to ollie something that big, but the relative wind keeps the board pushed to your feet. That’s why I do switch backside ollies. If I did a switch frontside ollie, it wouldn’t work—the relative wind would blow the board away.
Chris Nieratko and 15 skaters sneak into Havana, Cuba with the sole intention of bringing skateboards to the children of the forbidden island. They basically barged the embargo with over 200 skateboards, 100 pairs of shoes and more skate product than most skate shops. Until that point Cuban skaters could not get new skateboards, so what was seen were war-torn, weather-beaten, flat spotted wheels, cracked trucks and long since dead boards held together by nails and reinforced with 2″×4″s.
