New York City is bracing for an onslaught of young people the likes of which the Big Apple has never experienced.
Skateboarders, thousands from within the city, the Tri-State area and beyond, will flock to Queens this weekend to watch the world’s premier street skaters vie for the top prize of $100,000.

“Our main goal,” physical education teacher Bill Ewe says, “is to get kids excited about physical fitness. Not to just throw a basketball at them.”

May 29, 2010 (Lake Forest, CA) – Today some of the best skateboarders in the world joined Ryan Sheckler at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest for the Sheckler Foundation’s first Skate for a Cause event that raised thousands of dollars for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
