On weekdays, Andrea Bibelheimer dresses “conservatively” as a social services manager. But after work, she swaps the dresses and pantsuits for a sassy, tomboy fashion: short-shorts, spiky belt, a T-shirt that says something outrageous and the body armor of a skateboard rider. That’s how she dressed Sunday for Mother’s Day.
“I love this sport,” said Bibelheimer, of Auburn, before she dropped into a deep cement bowl and swirled down and around, up and around again and again, before popping up for a cool, nonchalant landing. Unlike football players, skateboard riders don’t celebrate like buffoons.
