For the first time this year we held a specialty vintage bodyboard heat. Rules were simple. All boards must be pre 1997, and the surfing must be inspired by the old school. In what wrapped up a big day of competition, 6 riders took to the water riding boards such as a Kanoa McGee Wave Rebel, a Mach 7-7, and Rheopaipo and a Bullet board. Whilst ‘Rip the Pit’ was playing over the speakers the guys took to the water. Radical reverse hand rolls, double hand carves and some crazy airs went down.
