As dawn broke on day one of the 2009 South African Bodyboarding Championships so did the swell. The forecast swell that was predicted had arrived in the early hours of the morning and the call was made to make use of the “mobile roaming venue format”. Our second event of the season was a full 2 days event, making this contest the largest Bodyboarding Event in Florida.
Conditions were great on both days. Glassy 3-4 ft waves all day long under sunny skies made this a real nice beach day for Saturday and simlar conditions, but smaller, for Sunday.

The 2009 BSA/BBC Auto-Sleepers British Bodyboard Nationals were completed over the weekend, with impressive performances across all divisions and a new National Champion crowned.
With highly contestable waves all weekend at Porthtowan, the cream of British bodyboarding ripped the conditions apart in pursuit of the biggest prize pot in European national championship competition. The highlight was the Open and Drop Knee finals, with the winners needing near perfect scores to win.

The last event on the E5’09 (IBA European leg) has been run and won by Brazilians Neymara Carvalho and Lucas Nogueira.
The surf was dropping and the event was finished on the Saturday to take advantage of the decreasing swell.
