Even in sub-zero temperatures in Upper Peninsula Michigan, you can find one man who surfs Lake Superior.
Daniel Schetter, known as “Surfer Dan,” has become a local legend for surfing Lake Superior, rain or shine, and making epic ice beards in the meantime.
After missing a year due to COVID-19, the Holy Bowly returned for it’s 8th incarnation at Timberline Lodge on the sunny slopes of Mt Hood. Here is a small taste of what went down over five days.

Meanwhile, Danny Davis decides to take a more creative line, leading to the creation of the Peace Park – a transition-based, low-pressure environment for riders to focus on style and creativity. With this new take on halfpipes, Peace Park became the direct influence for the first-ever Modified Superpipe competition at the 2018 Winter Dew Tour. From there, we can only speculate on what the future will hold for the superpipe’s ongoing story.
