Yes, you can snowboard in the summer. And you don’t have to go to the ends of the earth to do it. Just buy a plane ticket to Portland, Oregon, and get yourself to Mt. Hood, a little over an hour’s drive from the airport. Hit the slopes at Timberline Lodge, where you can also rest your head ($135 a night for a “chalet small” in August; timberlinelodge.com).
