Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety will be in a brace for two weeks but is not expected to need surgery after injuring ligaments in his right knee at the U.S. Alpine Championships last weekend.
“We’re optimistic for Ted so far,†U.S. Ski Team medical director Richard Quincy said in a statement released Thursday.

The Rim of the World shred team, formerly known as the ski/snowboard team, competed March 7 to 12 in state finals held in Mammoth. There were 47 high schools from across the state competing in both skiing and snowboarding.
