The 2nd and last day of the 10th Annual 4A Wimpy/Rossi Pro Am got underway early morning in cold and wet weather on Margate Beach.
The wave conditions weren’t as good as yesterday but are still very contestable. Contest director Wayne Beekman has decided to postpone the finals after all the semis were run to wait for the higher tide when the inside is expected to fire up again. The 1st Final to hit the water will be the Ladies at 2:30pm.

Today we had perfect conditions on Estaleirinhos Beach,, with no wind and 6-8 ft waves.
The Brazilians make up the majority on semifinals, with five of eight competitors left in the event being locals.

With contestants on standby and indicators pointing to some quality conditions, the competitors for the 2009 Cave Rock Challenge were poised for an early start and arrived at Durban’s Bluff to be greeted by ‘just what the doctor ordered’ – solid six foot, back breaking and firing Cave Rock beasts! The contest was ON!
Contest organisers held a quick meeting to decide the format that would run as the easterly wind was predicted later in the day and it was decided to hold 2 rounds with both heat scores counting towards an overall score – highest score wins.
