Video Skateboard – Sample from the upcoming documentary, Skatopia!  – “Skatopia: 88 Acres of Anarchy is a feature documentary that follows one of skateboardings most infamous underground figures. Pro-skater Brewce Martin is the self-declared dictator of a rural Appalachian skate scene so extreme that MTVs bad-boy Bam Margera fled the property on his first visit. The movie follows Brewce for a tumultuous year as he struggles to keep Skatopia afloat. Though he declares skating his prime directive, the film reveals a fiercely driven entrepreneur determined to achieve success on his own terms”

While other skaters ripped beyond belief, Chris Cole clearly stood above the rest to win $100,000 dollars. Not only did he win the street contest but he kept going in the 15 minute best trick jam and even kept skating when that was over; he still had gas in his tank. Chula Vista’s best, Tommy Sandoval placed a very respectable 2nd and mini Rasta Nyjah Huston followed in third.

After a few days of very heavy skating it all culminated in two heats of 6 getting 10 minutes to skate each of three sections. It was hot as hell, almost surprised no one was taken out by heat stroke. The skating? Well, someone said it would take a year and a half to collect all the tricks that went down today in 1 hour of skateboarding, it was that metal. Pozo Izquierdo has provided yet another astonishing day of competition where both the men’s and women’s wave fleets have been whittled down to the final few. As we approach the ultimate heats of the single elimination, last year’s winners will need to battle fiercely against empowered locals and bitter rivals to retain their position at the top.

The day’s action reached its pinnacle as the competition progressed to the men’s top sixteen. Phillip Köster (Starboard/NeilPryde/Dakine) has taken the world by storm with his recent success, and he sailed brilliantly today, disposing of Kevin Mevissen (Tabou) and current PWA wave leader, Josh Angulo (Angulo/MauiSails/Dakine), on his way through the rounds. His massive jumps and incredible technical ability on the wave have boosted him through to the top eight.

Meeting Köster in the next round is the astonishingly talented Ricardo Campello (JP/NeilPryde/MFC) …  Details
