As he held a huge chalice and $75,000 check for his Maloof Money Cup win, it was hard to contend anyone has had a better two weeks than pro skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon.

Last weekend, he stood in front of cameras with X Games gold around his neck for best trick and vert skateboarding.

“Amazing two weeks,” Gagnon said. “It’s been a lot of work, but it’s been fun too. I’m speechless.”

The work he put in will pay off. Gagnon is still waiting on checks from his X Games wins, but has earned more than $100,000 in the last two weeks …  Details

The competition in Fuerteventura has come to an end for yet another year. Fuerteventura has a reputation for the extremely powerful winds, which makes it one of the best places in the world for kiteboarding. Race competitors had the chance to use their smaller kites sizes as most races are performed in lighter wind conditions in other places around the world.

Contestants woke to expectations of a clean swell with offshore winds and what we found on arrival at “Bones” was probably better than what most people would have imagined.

Super smooth 3-4ft lines peeled down the spongy reef at Bones. The waves were some of the best seen for a SABA event and seeing that it was the first event of its kind on the west coast, organsers couldn’t have asked for better.

With a looming 5m swell predicted on Monday and Sundays conditions looking abit onshore, organisers used today’s conditions to run as much as the contest as possible  …  Details

The caravan of the Kiteboard Pro World Tour 2010 took off for the second round of the Ocean spirit – Wave Masters.

The swell was already very nice and appealing when the riders came to the beach. The wind picked up around noon and the show started at 3PM!
