Over 200 volunteers from Cambridge made sure the 2009 Canadian Short Track Championships would be an event to remember.

Only the top four skaters from each province in each division would be eligible to compete, and in the midget division, 12-year-old Paisley Perrie would be representing Ontario.

Perrie had  a disappointing Provincials where she narrowly made the four-girl team.

This weekend it was time to put that behind and focus on each race.  After the opening ceremonies Perrie was slated into the first race of the competition. Over 100 of the local school kids from the nearby public school let her know they were there to support… Details

I’m not a skater, ice or otherwise, as I have this thing about looking like a complete idiot as I am being hauled off in an ambulance with various broken bones and bruised pride. That said I gotta admit if I was an inline skater these would be so damn sweet.
