As soon as there were internal combustion engines, someone was looking at his bicycle and wondering how to fit the two together. In recent years, there have been quite a few builders making kits to transform bicycles into motorized commuters and some have built bikes emulating the style of those very early years. It’s taken many years, but it pleases me greatly to announce that there is a new motorcycle lap record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. At 7m10s BTG, Andy Carlile is now the fastest man ever to lap the 20832m Northloop on two wheels. Back of a fag-packet mathematics would place that as a 7m28s full lap time or even a 7m24s ‘industry’ time (which is a full lap minus the T13 straight)   …  Pictures and more

In Kawasaki’s Zero to Hero Challenge, Team Green invited anyone and everyone to enter to win an all-new ZX-14R. But winning the bike wouldn’t be that easy, as they’d have to beat nine-time AMA drag racing champion Rickey Gadson for it. It has been a month since we first reported about the Harley-Davidson motorcycle that washed up on Canadian soil, which was the first major piece of debris to hit North American soil from the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Remarkable in its own right, the American-made motorcycle was being stored in the back of box truck before the earthquake, and during the tsunami, the box separated from the vehicle and ended up floating across the Pacific Ocean over the past year.
