— What would be the ideal address for Iron Maiden’s new hotel in London? How about 666 Satan’s Passage, or 1 Louder Than Ten Lane? Alas, it’s located in one of the quieter corners of Soho, with the city’s largest toy shop and a rather nice Zara around the corner.
On a recent morning, workmen unloaded vans outside the two genteel Victorian townhouses that have been knocked together to create the Sanctum Soho Hotel. The workers’ cigarettes were pretty much the only indication of antisocial activity: No champagne bottles crashed to the ground, no one was peeing out a top-floor window, and the only vinyl platform boots in sight belonged to gentlemen who can usually be found in that corner of Soho anyway…

 BMW Motorrad USA are reporting an increase in sales last year riding through a challenging 2008 motorcycle market.
Despite a weakened motorcycle market, BMW Motorrad USA reported a gain (0.6 percent) in 2008 sales compared to 2007 outperforming overall U.S. motorcycle sales, which dropped more than seven percent last year.
“Our sustained success during these very difficult economic times speaks volumes about the strength of our brand, our new model initiatives and the quality of our dealers.†commented Pieter de Waal, Vice President, BMW Motorrad USA.

A San Francisco startup led by a former Tesla Motors engineer is developing an electric motorcycle capable of 150 mph, a claim that, if true, would make it the fastest production electric vehicle in the world.
Mission Motors unveiled the bike, dubbed Mission One, at the TED conference and said it will begin selling them next year for $69,000 apiece. Although several electric motorcycles have been announced in recent weeks, Mission Motors sticks out because its 12 employees have worked for Tesla, Ducati North America and Intel, and the bike they’re building could set a new benchmark for EVs of all kinds… More info
