The company says its 2009 Indian Chief lineup will be on display in the Black Hills of South Dakota at the 68th anniversary of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. It’ll be a great chance to scope out the ’09 Chief Standard, Deluxe, Roadmaster and Vintage models on the corner of 4th and Lazelle in downtown Sturgis.

bobberDarwin Motorcycles, the builder of the Brass Balls Bobbers & Choppers motorcycles, is pleased to announce its Custom Bobber received the 2009 V-Twin Bobber of the Year award at the 2009 annual V-Twin Expo, the industry’s largest trade show, held February 7-9 in Cincinnati, OH.

Once a year, on Saturday night, the industry gathers in the Grand Ballroom of the Duke Energy Convention Center to celebrate the winners of the Excellence Awards given away by Paisano Publications. “We know that times are tough for people at the moment,” said Steve Martindale of Honda Motorcycles. “But, we also know that motorcyclists are still keen to look at potential new bikes now, in preparation for the warmer months.”

 

Despite the downturn in the economy and a drop from the high gas prices that had scooters and motorcycles rolling off showroom floors this summer, the market for most everything on two wheels has stayed relatively strong.

Urban commuters are increasingly turning to electric scooters for city travel, and the burgeoning trend for the environmentally friendly vehicles has caused dealerships to sprout across the country.

Sales have increased “with a very good acceleration,” says Steve Miloshev, president of Greenwit Technologies, a British Columbia-based company specialized in the design, engineering and manufacturing of light electric vehicles.

“It’s quite a bit different compared to a couple of years ago.”

Miloshev, who has sold the Motorino electric scooters through E-Ride subsidiary dealerships since 2003, said his franchise network increased by 50 per cent last year. He estimates his company sold almost 1,000 units…  More info
