Mat Mladin wasted little time solidifying his win in the 20-lap AMA Pro American Superbike Race on Saturday at Road Atlanta.

The six-time AMA Superbike champion extended his season point lead thanks to a 15-second lead through the first 15 laps, finishing 15.717 seconds ahead of second place finisher Tommy Hayden.

Motorcycle madness will take over Infineon Raceway during a three-day stretch as race fans are invited to the 4th annual Two-Wheel Thunder, April 20-22.

The three-day stretch will be highlighted, April 20-21, by an official AMA Pro Road Racing test session, one of just three in the country planned for the 2009 season. The top teams in American Superbike and Daytona SportBike will converge on the Sonoma Valley in advance of the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts, May 15-17.

Some of the teams scheduled to attend the session include Monster Energy Attack Kawasaki, Rockstar Makita Suzuki, Corona Extra Honda and Foremost Insurance Ducati.

When the AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited division visits Road Atlanta for doubleheader races at the Suzuki Superbike Showdown, two riders sure to attract a lot of attention will be Jordan Suzuki teammates Aaron Yates and Geoff May.

Yates and May are two of the top riders in Superbike competition and they both happen to ride for the team owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan, which automatically brings the spotlight. In addition, both riders also make their homes in Georgia, making the Suzuki Superbike Showdown their “hometown race.”… Details

Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Racing/RMR/GEICO rider Danny Eslick shocked the motorcycle racing community with a double-header sweep of the second and third rounds of the AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike class at California Speedway March 20-21 to claim the first major wins in AMA Pro Racing against its Japanese and European competition.

Eslick’s historic wins were the first for an American manufacturer in a premier AMA road racing class since Cal Rayborn won an AMA Grand National race at Laguna Seca aboard a Harley-Davidson XR750 in 1972.
