A huge crowd of 45,859 fans filled Reliant Stadium on Saturday night for the sixth race of the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season. After wild night of action that resulted in a shakeup in the points, American Honda’s Trey Canard, of Shawnee, Okla., captured his first career Supercross class victory. In the opening race of the Supercross Lites Eastern Regional Championship, GEICO Honda’s Justin Barcia, of Ochlocknee, Ga., raced to the win in the 15-lap main event.

On the eve of the 45th Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, race in Houston, James Stewart has his sights set on a fourth win this season and the 41st of his career. Last weekend in Anaheim, Stewart joined an elite group of supercross racers in the 40-win club by leading all 20 laps of the main event, joining Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath in this exclusive group.

The news coming out of the Santa Cruz area today is that there’s been a management shake-up at Zero Motorcycles, as multiple people at the top of the company’s leadership have been given pink slips, including company Founder & CTO Neal Saiki. Recently talking to PlugBike.com‘s John Adamo, Zero Motorcycles CEO Gene Banman denied that Saiki had been let go from the company, saying that Saiki’s absence at the company was due to his child’s recent birth and Saiki’s desire to spend time with his newborn.
