Colorado Springs, Colo. (December 31, 2010) — The USA Cycling Development Foundation has recognized four student-athletes as recipients of the annual John Stenner and Joshua Kuck Memorial Scholarships.

The winners of the John Stenner Memorial Scholarships are Martha Buckley (Cambridge, MA) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Nitish Nag (Union City, CA) of the University of California at Berkeley. The winners of the Joshua Kuck Memorial Scholarship are Blake Anton (San Luis Obispo, Calif) of Cal Poly and Devon Simpson (Kirkland, Wash.) of the University of Washington.

USA Cycling unveiled its complete 2011 national championship calendar today. A total of 17 events will provide riders of all ages and abilities with opportunities to win national titles across all five disciplines of competitive cycling. Of the 17 events, 12 are headed to new host cities.  

The first national titles of the year will again be bestowed upon BMX racers. For the first time in its five-year history, the USA Cycling BMX National Championships will take place on the grounds of the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. The April 16th event will feature elite and junior racing on the Beijing-replica Supercross track, while all other categories will compete on the adjacent, traditional BMX track.

Next up will be the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships. For the second year in a row, co-eds from around the country will close out their year of racing in Madison, Wis. Now, Portland, Oregon-based Metrofiets Cargo Bikes has combined all four in an ingenious little vehicle unofficially known as the Beer Bike.
